Hon. Chief Ebinyo Marvin Turner hails from Opume Community in Ogbia LGA
He was born at University of Portharcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) on August 16th 1978 Into the family of Chief and Late Mrs Gbalipre Turner.
He went to Army Children Primary School GRA Phase 1 Portharcourt 1984-1990.
He also attended Stella Maris College Portharcourt 1991-1996.
Hon. Ebinyo Marvin Turner went to the prestigious University of Portharcourt 2001- 2006, were he studied Linguistics & Mass communication studies.
He attended Ignatius Ajuru University for his Post graduate degree in 2023 - 2024.
Hon.Ebinyo Marvin Turner is a Christian, adult male citizen of Nigeria, Married to Mrs Ebinyo and their marriage is blessed with three children.
After graduation, Hon.Ebinyo Turner secured a job as Procurement Officer at, Treneur Nig. Limited between 2000-2012,
He left Trenure and was appointed as Special Assistant to the then Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Seriake Dickson 2012-2013.
Hon. Ebinyo was later appointed as Director, Bayelsa State Centre for Youths Development, representing Ogbia L.G.A. 2014-15
In 2015, he became the Ag Secretary, Bayelsa State Centre for Youths Development and was later appointed as SSA to the Governor on Youth, Ogbia LGA by Senator Henry Seriake Dickson from 2015-2017.
He later became Vice Caretaker Chairman, Ogbia L.G.A 2018-2019 and Caretaker Chairman, Ogbia L.G.A_2019.
And in August 2019 he contested and won as the Executive Chairman, Ogbia L.G.A from August 18th 2019 - 2022.
During his reigns as both Caretaker and Executive Chairman of Ogbia LGA, the people enjoy peace, security, infrastructural developments and socio-economic empowerment.
For the first time in Ogbia, all the Wards felt the positive impact of the Council as Councillors were empowered to execute and complete Ward Projects to the benefit of the masses.
Other notable projects were the lighting up of Ogbia Town, Construction of lock up shops and revenue building at the popular Okilo Market, Construction of Open market halls for fish traders, Rehabilitation of water project in both Opume and Ogbia Town, Reconstruction of Otuokpoti Police post and Upgrade from a Police post to a Divisional Police Headquarters.
Due to his outstanding performance in Security, he won the best performing Chairman in Security in Nigeria by the All Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award in 2020 and 2021.
The Chiefs, Elders and People of Otuokpoti conferred on him a Chieftancy title to appreciate him for his efforts in ensuring the upgrade of the police post to a Divisional Police Headquarters to serve the entire Ayama Ogbia.
Hon. Ebinyo Turner holds many professional certification in Management, Public Policy and Administration including a Honorary Doctorate Degree by the European American University, Republic of Panama.
He has over 30 awards by reputable organisations recognising his leadership role and effective contribution to the development of humanity.
He contested for House of Representatives to represent Ogbia Federal Constituency under the platform of the PDP. He won the primaries which was keenly contested and adjudged as the most free and fairest election in Bayelsa State which was later annulled by the Court.
For the love of humanity, Hon. Ebinyo Turner established the Ebinyo Marvin Turner Foundation to provide scholarship, business grant and also the health needs of his people.
Recently the health foundation partnered with closer TV to provide medicated glasses to people who are affected by glaucoma.
The foundation has supported Indigenes of Ogbia with Start up capital ranging from N1,000,000 and below and also provided vehicles and bikes for transportation businesses as part of its empowerment scheme.
There is no doubt, that the existence of Hon. Ebinyo Marvins Turner on earth is a blessing to his community, generation and society at large, indeed the universe rejoiced at his birth, for his brith has brought goodwill to humanity.
Today with a heart full of gratitude, we raise a toast to celebrate a Youth builder, philanthropists, trailblazer and an exemplary leader, Hon. Ebinyo Marvins Turner, on the event of his of his birth anniversary.
