A nongovernmental organization, the Safe and Better Nigeria (SBN) has urged the Bayelsa State Police Command to leave no stone unturned until the killers of Francis Palowei are brought to book.
Francis, a native of Obrigbene and a final year student of the Niger Delta University (NDU) Amassoma, was allegedly killed at a sand dump in Amassoma Community by some youths for refusing to give them the sum of N150.
SBN, in a statement by its national coordinator, Comrade Solomon Charles Ikpaka, commiserated with the deceased's family and the NDU student community over the unfortunate incident; urging them to not take laws into their hands, but to allow the law enforcement agencies do their job.
He lamented the painful manner the life of the final year student was snatched away from him for a mere 150 naira; leaving the family in tears and anguish.
While calling on the commissioner of police to fish out the assailants to serve as deterrent to other misguided youths, Comrade Ikpaka advised young persons to abstain from any act capable of causing injury or harm to the next person.
