The APC Students Wing, Bayelsa State Chapter, wishes to unequivocally reject and condemn the recent press statement issued by a few individuals, allegedly speaking on behalf of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) National Executives, calling for a vote of no confidence in Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri PhD, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources. This misguided attempt to undermine the outstanding contributions of Sen. Lokpobiri in the petroleum sector is not only baseless but also a politically motivated strategy aimed at destabilizing the achievements of the Federal Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It is imperative to state that Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri PhD has demonstrated exceptional competence, vision, and dedication in his role as the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources. His efforts have led to significant strides in the petroleum sector, despite the numerous challenges faced by the industry. Under his watch, there has been a consistent drive towards the improvement of the sector, including the development of new policies aimed at ensuring the sustainability and profitability of Nigeria's oil and gas resources.

The claim that Sen. Lokpobiri lacks capacity in the petroleum industry is not only unfounded but also laughable. His tenure as Minister of State has been marked by strategic initiatives that are gradually positioning Nigeria's petroleum industry for greater efficiency and global competitiveness. The recent inflation in oil prices is a global phenomenon driven by various factors, including international market dynamics and geopolitical tensions. Blaming Sen. Lokpobiri for this is a clear demonstration of ignorance and a desperate attempt to tarnish his reputation.

We also want to draw attention to the fact that the purported call for a nationwide protest under the guise of ending bad governance is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to destabilize the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a leader who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the progress and development of Nigeria. The orchestrators of this ill-advised campaign are clearly working for their paymasters who are intent on derailing the positive strides being made by this administration.

Let it be known that a few organized individuals, driven by personal or political interests, cannot derail the vision and mission of Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri PhD, a leader whose works are speaking volumes for him. The APC Students Wing, Bayelsa State Chapter, stands firmly in support of Sen. Lokpobiri and his efforts to revitalize and transform the petroleum sector in Nigeria.

In conclusion, we urge the general public to disregard the baseless allegations and continue to support the laudable initiatives of Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri PhD. His dedication to serving the nation is unwavering, and no amount of politically motivated propaganda can diminish his achievements or stop the moving train of progress he represents in the petroleum industry.
