Security

The Bayelsa State Government has urged the family and community of the late Francis Paleowei, a 400-level Sociology student at Niger Delta University (NDU), to remain calm as security agencies work to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for his murder.

Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo presided over an emergency meeting with community leaders from Amassoma and Obrigbene, assuring them that every necessary step would be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The government has also called on the Amassoma community to collaborate with security personnel to ensure the arrest of the remaining suspects. Senator Ewhrudjakpo emphasized the importance of community leaders taking responsibility for preventing negative occurrences in their domains.

The Bayelsa State Government has expressed condolences to the bereaved family and community, and has commended the Amassoma community for their efforts in apprehending the prime suspect. The government has also urged the student community at NDU not to take the law into their own hands, as the suspect is already in police custody.

The family of the late Francis Paleowei has called for justice to be served, describing the killing as an "unwarranted evil." They have thanked the government for their timely intervention and expressed confidence that justice will be served.

The Acting Amananaowei of Amassoma, HRH Chief Akedesuo Godwill, has praised the Obrigbene community for their maturity in handling the situation and has pledged to work with the Police to ensure the arrest of the remaining suspects.
