Abuja, Nigeria - President Bola Tinubu has signed the Judicial Office Holders Salaries and Allowances Bill into law, effecting a 300% salary increase for judicial officers at both federal and state levels.
According to a statement released by Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, the National Assembly had approved the bill in June.
The newly signed law, titled "A Bill for an Act to Prescribe the Salaries, Allowances and Fringe Benefits of Judicial Office Holders in Nigeria and for Related Matters", aims to enhance the welfare and working conditions of judicial officers across the country.
This significant development is expected to boost the morale and productivity of judicial officers, ultimately strengthening the Nigerian judiciary.
