Abuja, Nigeria – April 11, 2025
The Federal Government has dismissed recent allegations suggesting an imbalance in federal appointments, asserting its steadfast commitment to fairness, national unity, and equitable representation across all regions of the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the government described the circulating claims—especially those gaining traction on social media—as unfounded and misleading.
“All appointments are made in strict adherence to the federal character principle as enshrined in Section 14 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended),” the statement emphasized.
According to the OSGF, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains dedicated to upholding justice, fairness, and the unity of the nation through inclusive governance. The statement underscored that the current administration is working to ensure all regions and demographic groups are adequately represented in government institutions and agencies.
The OSGF also cautioned the public against giving credence to individuals or groups spreading misinformation aimed at stirring division, urging citizens to rely solely on official government channels for accurate information.
“This administration, under the Renewed Hope Agenda, is unwavering in its pursuit of a prosperous, united, and equitable Nigeria,” the statement concluded.
Inquiries on the matter are directed to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, which remains the official source for such information.
