A statement personally signed by the Federal Lawmaker says the initiative aimed to support high-achieving students in their academic pursuits.
The awardees which cut across indigene and non- indigenes saw Miss Kai Christabel, a 16-year-old from Igbainwari in Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area emerging with the highest JAMB score of 330 and was presented with the sum of Two Hundred Thousand naira and a fully funded scholarship to study Pharmacy at the Niger Delta University.
Other beneficiaries include Master George Franklin from Imo State who scored 278 and received a cash gift of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand naira for emerging Second and Master Adepoju Folafoluwa from Oyo State who emerged Third with 253 Jamb score and was awarded the sum of One Hundred Thousand naira.
These awards are part of Hon. Oforji’s commitment in supporting educational excellence and encouraging academic achievement among the youths in his constituency which includes indigenes and non-indigenes resident in the federal constituency.
Recall that on the 1st of February 2024, the honorable member purchased and inaugurated a team to distribute the 600 JAMB Forms among Yenagoa LGA which got 200 Forms, Kolokuma-Opokuma LGA 200 and non-indigenes 200 Forms each to encourage indigenes and non-indigenes resident in his federal constituency in their academic pursuits and proceeded to set up tutorial centers within the twin LGAs that spurred 90 percent of the candidates scoring beyond JAMB cutoff mark of 140.
