POLICE ARREST TIKTOK USER IN VIRAL VIDEO FOR INCITING VIOLENCE IN PLATEAU
The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended Suleiman Yakubu, 34, the man behind the controversial TikTok video calling for violent attacks on critical infrastructures and law enforcement in Plateau State.
Yakubu, who posted under the handle "Dan_Mallam68," was nabbed on Ahmadu Bello Way following a thorough investigation. In the video, he brazenly urged the public to target petrol stations and destroy state and private property, sparking widespread alarm.
In a press briefing, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that Yakubu admitted to making the video but failed to provide any clear motive. With the planned nationwide protest looming, the police have warned against any attempts to hijack the event for malicious purposes.
"We will not tolerate any attempts by mischief-makers to destabilize the country or incite violence," Adejobi stated. He urged protest organizers to collaborate with the police to ensure a peaceful demonstration.
According to him, the Nigeria Police remains committed to maintaining peace and order, urging citizens to protest responsibly.
